A nurse killed herself after testing positive for coronavirus over fears that she had infected others, an Italian nursing federation has revealed.
Daniela Trezzi, 34 had been working on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis in the intensive care unit of San Gerardo Hospital, in Lombard, the worst affected Italian region.
The National Federation of Nurses of Italy confirmed her tragic death and said that the healthworker had been under a lot of stress.
And her emotional state reportedly worsened when she was diagnosed with the killer bug on March 10 and according to the FNOPI told colleagues "she lived a heavy stress for the fear of having infected others".
