first tri-service war memorial has finally been officially unveiled and dedicated. A ceremony was held on Saturday, June 26, to coincide with Armed Forces Day at the statue in St John Street.Scone veteran Donald McPhee (90) and Liam Fowlis, of 38F (Perth) Squadron ATC, unveiled the memorial at around 11am.The memorial has a bronze plaque cast with the badge of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.It also has the inscription: “Erected in remembrance of all the men and women of HM Armed Forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country.
