Experts say Ontario’s fractured vaccine booking system is complex but gets job done
Ontario adds 3 regions to list of COVID-19 Delta hot spots, accelerates 2nd dose vaccine bookings “It may be frustrating, sometimes it may be less than ideal, that you have to queue, that you have to wait, but I think we have to look at this from the perspective of the glass being half full,” said Juni.“We’re at such a critical crossroads because of the Delta variant, we just need to help each other, leverage our sense of community and sense of service.”Timothy Sly, an epidemiologist and professor emeritus at Ryerson University’s School of Occupational and Public Health, said he was initially skeptical of Ontario’s capacity to quickly get its population vaccinated.

B.C. schools are unlikely COVID transmission sites: study
COVID-19 through contact at school is identical to their risk of catching the virus in the community. The study by researchers from BC Children’s Hospital, the University of British Columbia and Vancouver Coastal Health examined COVID-19 infections among teachers and staff throughout the Vancouver district.Blood samples taken from 1,556 school staff showed 2.3 per cent tested positive for antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19, mirroring the number of positive tests from a matching group of donors who did not work in schools.Researchers say the findings show the limited chance of developing COVID-19 through contact in a school setting. ‘Make it kinky’ at summer ‘sex parties’ with NYC’s new COVID guidelines
latest update to the New York City Department of Health’s notoriously graphic guidelines for safer sex during the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency is urging residents to be creative but “play safer” — especially by getting vaccinated before engaging in what some have dubbed the “slutty summer” of 2021.New Yorkers should actually “avoid sex parties,” they write — but for those who “insist” on getting their groove fully back this summer, the city explains that it’s imperative to get vaxxed before you attend “get-togethers with large groups; have group sex, multiple sex partners or sex with people you do not know.”And by all means — “pick larger, more open and well-ventilated spaces” for orgy action.

69% of Canadians say COVID-19 restrictions should remain as more people get vaccine: poll
COVID-19.Sixty-nine per cent of respondents to an online survey by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies say restrictions should stay in place as people continue to get vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.Leger executive vice-president Christian Bourque said Canadians are still fairly prudent and careful regarding lifting the restrictions.“I believe they’re waiting until the end of the vaccination campaign, or at least until governments say that they’ve reached all of their targets, potentially to sort of relax a little bit,” he said in an interview.“We’ll see this number change once governments have said that they’ve reached their vaccination targets.
