Getting outside for exercise during the coronavirus lockdown is important for both physical and mental health. The NHS recommends to look after your health and wellbeing by doing “light exercise at home, or outside once a day”.
But while exercise is good, overdoing it leaves you at risk of injury. And according to Dr Matthew Jackson, a lecturer in Sport and Health Science at Liverpool Hope University, too much exercise can actually worsen your immunity towards coronavirus.
Moderate exercise can actually, as well as being positive in other ways, boost your immune system. But overdoing it with vigorous exercise too often can have the opposite effect.
