EastEnders fans livid at show's major schedule change during coronavirus pandemic

EastEnders fans were left livid when they tuned in on BBC One tonight to discover the show was running shorter than usual. Viewers couldn't believe it when the popular show, which follows the characters living in Albert Square, began at 8.40pm instead of its usual Monday slot at 8pm.

And once fans discovered that the show finished at 9pm and was only running for 20 minutes they rushed to their Twitter accounts to voice their frustrations.

One tweeted: "First corona made EastEnders only on twice a week; then tonight’s is only 20 minutes." "This is on late tonight," another tweeted followed by the crying emoji.

The BBC is yet to announce the change in its usual schedule but earlier today its official EastEnders account announced the show
