Jean-Philippe Gbamin’s injury nightmare at Everton is set to continue, after he suffered a serious Achilles injury in training on Thursday.
The 24-year-old midfielder was signed from Mainz for £25million last summer, but has played just twice for the Toffees since.
Purchased by ex-boss Marco Silva with the intention of making the Ivory Coast international a lynchpin at the heart of the Toffees midfield, he ruptured a thigh muscle in just his second appearance for the club last August.
Twice he underwent surgery in a bid to fix the problem. And, having done so, Gbamin was looking forward to playing a part in the remainder of the Premier League season, following its coronavirus suspension.
