Five migrant workers, two children die in collision on way back home

HYDERABAD : Seven people -- including two minors -- died and six others were injured in a road accident, after the open truck they were travelling in, was hit at the rear by a lorry.

The deceased are believed to be migrant workers, who were going back to their native place in Karnataka from Suryapet, in Telangana.

As many as 30 workers were travelling in the truck. The accident took place in Pedda Golconda (about 40 km from Hyderabad) late on Friday night at the Outer Ring Road (ORR), after which the police imposed restrictions on vehicular movement in the area.

The injured have been shifted to a government hospital for treatment. In Telangana, scores of migrant workers have been stranded ever since the state government imposed a lockdown
