Si King and Dave Myers - AKA The Hairy Bikers – are stuck at home like the rest of us, but we managed to chat to them (separately) over the phone.

The TV cooking stars shared their thoughts on the importance of food, their best and worst lockdown meals, and how their new book on beating diabetes is helping them to stay healthy.

Here's what they had to say... Have you joined the ranks of lockdown bakers? Si: Yes! I had a load of flour – I was the flour warehouse for all my mates, dropping bags off at the bottom of their gardens.

I started sourdough cultures, because yeast was difficult to get. It’s nice to have had the time to get a handle on it. Dave: I made cheese and bacon bread yesterday – wonderful toasted with a poached egg.
