The Scottish Government has confirmed that most of the country’s suspected Covid-19 prisoners are in a West Lothian prison.Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf told the Scottish Parliament on April 21 that the “vast majority of prisoners self-isolating are in HMP Addiewell.”This information comes as Mr Yousaf was questioned by MSPs about whether safe social distancing was being practiced in Scotland’s prisons.
Additional concerns were raised about the lack of testing for prisoners and PPE for prison staff.A spokesperson for the Scottish Prison Service said there were 60 people in isolation at the moment.Over 40 of them have no symptoms but around 20 have either tested positive, have symptoms or been in contact with someone who tested positive.Nei
