Kate Garraway has heartbreakingly announced the death of her husband Derek Draper, following a devastating three year battle with Covid-19.The Good Morning Britain presenter, 56, announced Derek had passed away age 56 in a statement shared to social media on 5 January, where she explained that he'd suffered a cardiac arrest in December and due to the "damage inflicted by Covid", had led to further complications for the dad-of-two.
Kate, who married Derek in 2005, remained by her husband's side throughout his lengthy health battle, right up until his final moments.
She has been publicly open about the issues Derek has faced since contracting Covid-19 in March 2020, which resulted in him being put in a coma.
The mum-of-two has also praised her and Derek's two children, Darcey, 17, and Billy, 14, for their support and how they navigated their dad suddenly falling ill.
