A curious change has been made during the updating of the vaccine schedule on the Government's gov.ie website, and this change seems to provide a glimmer of hope to teachers and SNAs dismayed by their downgrading on the vaccine order of priority list, as well as other workers.
In the revised vaccination plan, one key word of category 9 has been changed. Category 9 used to refer to people "living or working in crowded accommodation", however the new category 9 now states that "people 16-64 living or working in crowded settings" will be vaccinated in parallel with the new age-based process.
Is it significant that the word "accommodation" has been changed to "settings"? It certainly means that the category has been widened.
