Singer behind Milli Vanilli's hits John Davis has died aged 66 after a fight with coronavirus. The session musician gave his voice to the group's hit 1989 album Girl You Know It's True which sold 11 million copies.

He was a musician with incredible vocal talent. Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus fronted the R&B band Milli Vanilli which rocketed to fame.

The band sold more than 30 million singles before they were rocked by a huge scandal. Controversy surrounded the two man group when it come to light they lip-synced the hits.

The infamous group were stripped of a Grammy Award as a result. John's daughter Jasmin paid tribute to her musician dad on Facebook in a touching message.
