A police officer has been slapped with an official warning after Kerry Katona’s rugby player ex died after “eating cocaine”.
Troubled George Kay died last year after ingesting the controlled drug in front of staff at a Holiday Inn in Runcorn last year.
But a police officer who responded to an initial call about Kay’s “erratic” behaviour failed to confiscate his stash just hours before his body was found.
The Liverpool Echo claim officers attended at 9.54pm on July 5 last year, but are believed to have left the hotel after Mr Kay agreed to return to his room.
