The latest data analysed by the M.E.N shows the number of positive Covid-19 cases has increased in five boroughs in the past 24 hours.
The weekly rate, a better indication of the overall trend, is also increasing in three boroughs - Oldham, Manchester and Trafford. - and has levelled out in Wigan and Stockport.
The rate for the region continues to fall week-on-week by around 5 per cent. Leaders believe rising rates are likely to be connected to the easing of coronavirus measures including the reopening of schools.
