As the Prime Minister is set to unveil his roadmap out of lockdown on Monday - and whether schools will open on March 8 - concerns are rising over how that might happen.

This afternoon school leaders have issued a joint statement amid fears the government is moving towards a full reopening next month - something they say 'would seem a reckless course of action'.Nine education organisations, including the Association of School and College Leaders and the National Association of Head Teachers, say the PM should 'commit to 8 March only if the scientific evidence is absolutely clear that this is safe'.At that point they say there should be nothing more than 'a phased return of children and young people with sufficient time to assess the impact.
