Police have stopped hundreds of people, made dozens of arrests and seized £4,500 of drugs in Piccadilly Gardens - despite the coronavirus lockdown.
The Manchester Evening News reported yesterday how the square remains a trouble hotspot for police despite most businesses being closed and the government advice to stay at home.
Footage sent to us by a resident from a nearby apartment block shows people gathering in large groups, screaming and fighting with one another.
Jack Weir, 26, also shared photographs of people playing football and spending the day sat on benches. He argued that Piccadilly Gardens should be shut off, a move that was suggested by Chief Constable Ian Hopkins before police backtracked.
