A one-way walking system has been introduced at all parks in Limerick in an effort to limit too many people gathering in open areas and to help in social and physical distance, as the weather improves and summer time begins this weekend.
Mayor of Limerick city and county Michael Sheahan has said that last weekend, Government and health officials expressed concern that people out enjoying the good weather were not practicing correct social/physical distancing.
He has advised people to keep to the 2 metres apart advice, and asked that people go elsewhere or go home if an amenity area or park is too busy. "Is your family's health worth a quick walk by a beauty spot or riverwalk or beach?" he asked.
