Liverpool will be able to celebrate their title win with an open top bus parade as soon as it’s safe. The Reds were crowned champions of England for the first time in 30 years on Thursday night as their closest challengers Manchester City lost to Chelsea 200 miles away at Stamford Bridge.
Several thousand Liverpool fans poured into the streets outside Anfield and in the city centre to revel in their historic victory, some of whom were seen flouting social distancing guidelines.
Now, Liverpool Council have confirmed the club will be allowed to hold a title parade. But they warned that a final date can only be decided once coronavirus is under control.
