Two men have been arrested in connection with a video which appears to show a car travelling up to 201mph in Sussex. The footage, posted on social media, was captured on the M23 southbound between Gatwick and Crawley and is believed to have occurred at some point during the coronavirus lockdown.
Filmed inside the car, the clip shows the motorist speeding at almost three times the national 70mph speed limit. Following enquiries, the vehicle identified as being involved – a black Audi RS6 – was located and seized for further investigation.
Enquiries also led to the arrest of two suspects. A 38-year-old man from Crawley, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
