The government has said it wants to make vaccine passports mandatory for some settings - such as nightclubs - and crowded events from the autumn.

One venue chain, run by the Academy Music Group, has already started asking revellers for proof at the point of entry, the Mirror reports.

This chain runs the O2 Ritz on Whitworth Street in Manchester city centre. Tonight (July 30), club night 'Ultimate Power' will go ahead with attendees being asked to show a Covid pass.
