Two-time Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy will be replaced by Stephen Kenny with immediate effect in a decision made by the Football Association of Ireland.
In a short second stint in charge, the 61-year-old won five of his 10 games in charge to set up a Euro 2020 play-off against Slovakia.
Kenny was already set to replace McCarthy after Euro 2020 but the postponement of the play-offs and the tournament itself until 2021 because of Covid-19 has accelerated the FAI's plan.
