A mum who was "given three days to live" has made a miraculous recovery from coronavirus after taking an experimental drug.
Claire Haythorne, from Hillsborough, Sheffield, had spent weeks in a coma battling Covid-19 before doctors administered Anakinra as a "last resort", Yorkshire Live reports.
Just over a week after taking the drug, which is normally used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, care worker Mrs Haythorne awoke from her coma.
Her daughter, Leah, 18, was "gobsmacked" by her mum's swift recovery, with the doctor who prescribed the medication describing it as a "little Christmas miracle".
