NHS workers to be given 10,000 tickets for Aintree's 2021 Grand National meeting

Aintree Racecourse's owners The Jockey Club are donating 10,000 tickets to NHS staff for the 2021 Grand National meeting. The opening day of the fixture on April 8 is also being renamed 'Liverpool's NHS Day' in appreciation of their hard work during the coronavirus pandemic.

Professional carers will also benefit from the initiative, announced just two days before this year's Virtual Grand National.

Run each year, it takes centre stage for 2020 as the real race has been abandoned due to the ongoing fight against Covid-19.
