coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Scotland over the last 24 hours. Nicola Sturgeon also announced that 897 new cases of COVID-19 were reported overnight, taking the total figure to 102,372.
972 people are in hospital being treated for the deadly virus while 50 people remain in intensive care, which is a decrease of 7 since yesterday.
Of the new cases 225 were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 150 in Lothian, 147 in Lanarkshire with the rest spread across eight mainland health boards.
The news came on the day UK regulators warned people who have a history of “significant” allergic reactions not to receive the coronavirus vaccine currently being rolled out.
