Offaly community welcomes home local woman (83) after recovery from Covid-19

Dozens of families, cocooned in their homes in Co Offaly because of the Covid-19 emergency have come out on the streets of the town of Rhode this afternoon to welcome home an 83-year-old local woman who broke her hip and was diagnosed with Covid-19 but has made a full recovery and is returning to her own family today.

Mary Joe Kilmurray, a former post mistress and mother of six broke her hip after she fell in her kitchen in early March. Just as she was recovering in hospital in Tullamore she was diagnosed with the coronavirus but she now has been given the all clear by doctors at the regional hospital in Tullamore and was this afternoon being greeting by the community in Co Offaly who came out in socially distant family groups for her
