A partial lockdown in the Spanish capital of Madrid is due to come into effect today, a move aiming to put a break on a second wave of Covid-19.
Several hundred people have protested against the new restrictions, which affect nearly one million residents. The restrictions, which take effect for two weeks, affect 850,000 people living mainly in densely-populated, low-income neighbourhoods in the south - or 13% of the 6.6 million people living in and around the capital.
