Royal Bolton Hospital now has five wards dedicated to treating Covid patients
The number of wards at the Royal Bolton Hospital treating Covid-19 patients has increased from two to five.The increase was disclosed during a performance update to board members of the Bolton NHS Trust Clinical Commissioning Board by Dr Helen Wall, clinical director for commissioning.She spoke about the situation in the hospital after the trust made the decision to halt all elective surgery earlier this month.Dr Wall explained that there has been an increase in the number of patients who needed treatment which began over the last two weeks.She said: “At my last update the hospital had opened their fifth ward for Covid patients.“We had a really slow start in this second wave, we seemed to hold our numbers really stable around the 40 patient
