Bolton Covid spike 'starting to slow' with weekly figures going DOWN - but town health chiefs urge caution

But Dr Helen Wall stressed the need to 'keep pushing forwards and get the rates down further'. Latest figures revealed on Sunday showed Bolton has experienced a 10 per cent, week-on-week fall in new cases after a surge driven by the rise of the Indian variant of coronavirus.

Bolton, the figures revealed yesterday, currently has 386.7 cases per 100,000 people, which was overtaken by Blackburn with Darwen’s rate of 390.1 on Saturday.
