A pop-up Covid-19 testing centre has been set up in Co Kildare as part of the response to outbreaks of the virus in the region, while another pop-up centre is due to open in Co Laois.
Restrictions have been reintroduced in the two counties, as well as in neighbouring Offaly, following a spike in Covid-19 cases.
The testing facility in Newbridge is being run by the National Ambulance Service and will be open over the weekend. It has capacity to carry out 45 swabs an hour, or 500 tests, today and tomorrow.
