As nursing home owners come to terms with being on the frontline of Covid-19, the role of the Health Information and Equality Authority is stepping up a gear.
From today, it will issue a checklist to nursing homes around the country to ensure they have the correct measures in place to deal with the virus.
The quality assurance programme will examine the preparedness of registered providers and designated centres to manage Covid-19.
It will assess the nursing home provider's knowledge of the resources available to support residents and staff in preparing for and managing an outbreak.
