Ryanair, easyJet and British Airways have joined forced to protest against the Government's 14-day quarantine rule for travellers who leave and visit the UK from Monday.

The three airlines described the Government's decision as "wholly unjustified and disproportionate" as many prepare to resume flights from July.

Ryanair, which is representing BA and easyJet, said quarantine measures could hamper the sector's recovery after months of cancellations which have already resulted in billions of pounds in losses.

From June 8, almost everyone arriving in Britain will be required to self-isolate for 14 days and to fill in a contact form with details of their accommodation.
