Sainsbury's has announced plans to reopen some petrol stations from next week as part of a phased approach that will eventually see all branches back in business.
In a letter sent out to customers in the past 24 hours, boss Mike Coupe unveiled a series of new measures, including later opening hours, as the UK passes its coronavirus peak.
This will include convenience stores, which will extend their opening times to 11pm, to help manage long social distancing queues in residential areas.
Larger stores will also open from from 8am until 10pm as part of the measures to speed up transactions. The grocer said it's now launched a new telephone service for vulnerable shoppers - allowing struggling households to place their orders directly over
