The San Diego Comic-Con has been cancelled for the first time in its 50-year history due to the coronavirus pandemic. Comic-Con is the largest fan convention in North America and was supposed to attract more than 130,000 people between 23 and 26 July.
In light of the recent coronavirus crisis, organisers believe it won’t be safe for the event to take place this year, making it the first time it has ever been cancelled.
In a statement, Comic-Con said: ‘Recognising that countless attendees save and plan for its conventions each year, and how many exhibitors and stakeholders rely upon its events for a major portion of their livelihood, they (organisers) had hoped to delay this decision in anticipation that Covid-19 concerns might lessen by
