A family kept thousands of miles apart by Covid-19 were finally reunited as a dad piped his son and new daughter-in-law home to Scotland yesterday.
Lachie Birch secretly learned the bagpipes to welcome son Douglas and his wife Olivia as they jetted in to Glasgow Airport from the US after more than two-and-a-half years.
The couple have been forced to repeatedly scrap their family wedding celebrations after tying the knot pre-pandemic but arrived to spend Christmas with loved ones to the sound of Flower of Scotland yesterday.
