Some bin collections in Bury are being cancelled as the council prioritises waste collections amid coronavirus fears. Emptying grey, green and blue bins will now be the priority for Bury Council.

This mean brown bin collections are being cancelled this week, from March 23 to March 27, and next week, from March 30 to April 3.

In Bury, grey rubbish bins are for non-recyclable bagged waste and non-recyclable plastics. Green bins are for paper and cardboard.

Blue bins are for glass, plastic bottles and some metal items. Brown bins are for garden and food waste. Hoping to protect bin crews from coronavirus risk, the council has also asked residents to follow national advice about disposing of waste.
