St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin as the deadly disease struck it’s first blow of the new campaign with Ross County forfeiting their Premier Sports Cup opener after reporting positive cases.
The Buddies’ 2020/21 season was littered with disruption caused by Covid-19, with several games called off and players forced to isolate leaving Goodwin with a threadbare squad for crucial matches.
And despite the vaccine roll-out, the Saints boss believes the upcoming campaign could be even more hampered due to restrictions easing across the country.
Goodwin told Express Sport : “At the moment everything is going very smoothly for us, but that can all change very, very quickly as we know because it’s very difficult to control what’s happening out there.
