Switzerland is allowing kids under 10 to visit their grandparents again after scientists there claimed youngsters cannot pass on the coronavirus.
The country’s Federal Office of Public Health has ruled that children pose “no risk” to the elderly, and so they can finally meet again.
But the scientists said contact should be kept brief despite being able to see each other again. The decision comes after research at Zurich, Bern and Geneva universities into infection rates among children.
Coronavirus spokesman Dr Daniel Koch said: “We now know that young children don’t transmit the virus.” He said of the few kids who contract it, most are infected by their parents.
