Two more people have died here from Covid-19, it has been confirmed by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC). There have now been a total of 1,652 coronavirus-related deaths in Ireland.
The HPSC was also notified of 66 additional confirmed cases of Covid-19. There is now a total of 24,990 confirmed cases of the disease in Ireland.
The Health Service Executive is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.
The latest detailed data from the HPSC is from midnight, Friday 29 May (relating to 24,924 cases) and this reveals that the median age for people who contract the disease remains 48 with 57% of these cases being female and 43% male.
