UK coronavirus patients could have their ventilators taken away and be allowed to die, experts have warned. NHS staff are working flat out to save patients stricken with the deadly disease – but as we approach the peak of the outbreak in the UK, medical experts have issued a stark warning.
New guidance from the British Medical Association (BMA) says that doctors will have to prioritise patients that have the best chance of recovery and that some patients will be allowed to die.
The BMA says doctors will have to make decisions "which mean some patients may be denied intensive forms of treatment that they would have received outside a pandemic".
