An elderly dementia victim who was discovered bleeding and laying face-down in a road in the middle of the night was "failed repeatedly by carers".
The 79-year-old was found on a January night at 2:30am. Watchdogs have stated Irene Marandola, was not given adequate supervision.
The Care Inspectorate issued a damning verdict on the case of Irene, who was able to leave her care home through a fire door and wander more than a mile before police found her with face and hand injuries that needed hospital treatment.
Its report said there was evidence that Irene was “not provided with appropriate support and supervision to keep her safe from harm”.
