A 79-year-old dementia victim found face-down and bleeding in the road at 2.30am on a January night was failed repeatedly by her carers, watchdogs have found.The Care Inspectorate issued a damning verdict on the case of Irene Marandola, who was able to leave her care home through a fire door and wander more than a mile before police found her with face and hand injuries that needed hospital treatment.Its report said there was evidence that Irene was “not provided with appropriate support and supervision to keep her safe from harm”.
