A protester who objected to the strict coronavirus restrictions and campaigned to ease them was unable to attend two rallies after testing positive for the deadly bug.
Audrey Whitlock remained in quarantine for two weeks after testing positive for Covid-19, reports WFAE 90.7. The group organiser who called on the state of North Carolina to ease lockdown restrictions, heads the Facebook page of rally group ReOpen NC.
In a statement to WFAE, she said: "I remained in isolation/self quarantine at my home per the direction of my county health department.
I have not attended any events for Reopen NC." Although she contracted the virus, she still plans to return to the protests.
