Karnataka govt raises Ayush doctors' salary for six months amid COVID-19
Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government on Tuesday decided to increase the salaries of Ayush doctors for the next six months.The decision was taken in the Task Force Committee meeting chaired by Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar on Tuesday."Ayush doctors to get ₹48,000 monthly salary, MBBS doctors to get ₹80,000 and nurses to get ₹30,000 monthly salary for the next six months," Dr K Sudhakar said.Apart from that, four lakh antigen test kits and five lakh swab test kits would be purchased to ramp up testing in the state."As many as 16 RT-PCR and 15 Automated RNA extraction units will be established to ramp up testing.

1,349 new COVID-19 cases in Delhi; recovery rate stands at 84.83%
NEW DELHI : Delhi reported 1,349 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total count of cases to 1,25,096.A health bulletin by Delhi Government said there are 15,288 active cases in the metropolis.It said that 27 more patients succumbed to the disease taking the death toll due to the disease to 3,690. KERALA : Kerala on Tuesday reported 720 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the number of infected people in the state to 13,994, while 1,62,444 people are under observation in the state.Of the new cases, 528 were infected from their contacts, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the media after the daily COVID-19 evaluation meet."Sources of at least 34 cases are yet to be identified...82 came from abroad, 54 came from other states...17 health workers,29 defence security corps personnel, four ITBP personnel and five personnel belonging to other paramilitary forces were also affected.The state also reported one death today," he said.The chief minister condoled the death of the 72- year-old woman, Victoria, a native of Pulluvila in the district,
