A rare wild cat effectively registered as being “functionally extinct” has been born at a zoo. Five Sisters Zoo in West Calder, in Scotland, is celebrating the birth of the adorable Scottish Wildcat.
The breed is one of the most endangered cat populations in the world after being listed as such in 2018. It was born to parents Morag and Fletcher but given their elusive nature has only been seen a handful of times, The Daily Record said.
Keepers are yet to name the animal as they do not know the sex yet. The zoo said: "We are delighted to announce the birth of a rare Scottish Wildcat kitten here at Five Sisters Zoo. "The breeding programme that we are proud to be part of is a lifeline for this fragile population and without help from
