Singer Amy MacDonald has blasted Dunfermline Athletic for their decision to release 17 players as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
The uncertainty has led to a mass exodus from East End Park as a Pars statement remarked that the decision was made to "protect the future of the club".But MacDonald laid into the club on Twitter for "pleading poverty" and letting the players go.
She proposed that Dunfermline could have extended players' deals on a short term basis and kept them on the government's furlough scheme.
MacDonald said: "You could have temporarily extended contracts and put all these guys on furlough and ensured that they had an income during this difficult time.
