Members of Chorlton Irish club have expressed their upset after discovering the south Manchester building has been put up for sale.
Over the years, famous names including Peter Kay, Sir Alex Ferguson and John Bishop have appeared at the venue on High Lane, which was founded in the 1950s as a meeting place for the Irish community and counted footballer Sir Matt Busby as one of its members.
It has been plagued by financial woes in recent years but, last year, there was hope it would be saved from a bleak future when Trustees took control of the club.
