West Ham manager David Moyes has revealed he is fully aware of Chelsea’s desire to lure Declan Rice back to Stamford Bridge.
And the Scot has indicated he would ask the Blues for compatriot Billy Gilmour in return if they make a move for Rice. The Hammers’ holding midfielder has emerged as one of their most important players and fans would hate to see him sold.
Amid the coronavirus crisis, Chelsea are looking to take advantage of West Ham potentially balancing their books this summer.
But West Ham have no intention of letting England international Rice, 21, go. The emergence of Gilmour in west London, as well, makes bringing in a new centre-midfielder less crucial for Frank Lampard ahead of the 2020/21 season.
