Napoli forward Dries Mertens is interested in a move to Chelsea this summer, according to reports. The 32-year-old Belgium international will see his contract expire at the San Paolo at the end of the current season.
Blues boss Frank Lampard failed to lure him to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window with a bid of around £8million.
That is because Napoli wanted the forward to remain with them in order to break the club’s all-time goalscorer record before leaving.
To date Mertens has netted 121 times for the Italians – making him the club's joint-highest marksman with Marek Hamsik. Now, the Daily Mail claim that the player is keen to move to Chelsea but that he has several other offers current on the table.
