Two teachers from Caldervale High are lending their expertise to a a major joint effort producing personal protective equipment (PPE) – which has already manufactured tens of thousands of visors for workers on the Covid-19 front line.Linda Johnstone, of the Airdrie school’s art department, and technical teacher Sophie Lindsay are part of the growing Vise Up operation, consisting of schools and businesses from around Scotland.
They are helping to print and assemble face masks, with the project aiming to make up to 25,000 per week and an online fundraising page to help purchase the necessary materials having topped £75,000 in donations.
