Conor McGregor claims he is ready to fight Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 with scheduled opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov stranded at home.
UFC lightweight champ Nurmagomedov was forced to pull out of the fight after the spread of coronavirus left him stuck in Dagestan, Russia.
The event was scheduled to take place in New York on April 18 but it is now in danger of being cancelled completely. Organisers though are still keen for the event to go ahead with chiefs are hopeful of landing a replacement.
McGregor’s trainer John Kavanagh hinted recently that the Notorious could replace Nurmagomedov to fight Ferguson. And now McGregor himself has further fuelled rumours that he could by claiming that he is ready to fight the American.
